I’ve been telling stories since before I could form words—at least according to family lore.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a passion for tales. Myth, legends, and fairy tales are where I feel most at home.

Whether I’m writing fantasy or literary fiction, I’m devoted to truth in both character and plot.

My goal as a writer has been, and always will be, the well-written story.

The stories I write are fueled and inspired by my life in the American Midwest, the enchantment of creation, the darkness and light of human nature, our place in and relationship to the natural and spiritual worlds, and my belief that the earth is a place haunted by spirits.
